Well done to our U16 cup team for their hard work displayed at Hawks on Friday evening when they became County Champions. The 1st XI played an entertaining game vs Abingdon in cold conditions where Jimmy Ward scored two screamers off his reverse! A special mention to the 14C’s, lead by Mr Stokes, with their 4-0 winvs Abingdon. Joshua Bernstein scoring 2 of the 4 and Lawrence Crean taking home the Man of the Match title.

1st VII Netball vs Challoners Grammar Weds 18th Jan MCS Loss 15-17
A frustrating loss for the 1sts on Wednesday, with a number of factors outside of our control that ultimately led to a narrow defeat. We took a strong lead early in the game, with relentless turnovers from MCS defence, and composure in attack, particularly from captain Grace O’Gorman both on and off the court.

2nd VII Netball vs Challoners Grammar Win 22-4

The 2nd VII had an easier time securing the win vs Challoners displaying sportsmanship and composure throughout.

1st VII Netball vs Marlborough Thurs 19th Jan MCS Win 29 – 10
On Thursday we came back fighting from our unfortunate loss, to show Marlborough College that MCS is a class act. Sana Kassey brought speed and power to midcourt, and our shooters worked hard against a tall and physical defensive circle. Grace Durand turned over ball after ball, assisted by her Goal Keeper & Goal Defence. ‘Hunter’ Giulia demonstrated her versatility with a cracking quarter at GA. A whole squad performance for a well-earned win.

Well done to the girls who played out a thrilling 3-2 defeat to Cheltenham College on Saturday, this was the only fixture that survived the cold snap over the weekend.

The 1st Team Tennis progressed to the knockout stages in the LTA Year 11-13 National Championships beating Sandringham 4-3 on Wednesday. The match went to a deciding shootout after the match was tied after 6 rubbers. Nathan Patel and Guy Wilkinson held their nerve to win the shootout 10-5. Well done to all involved.
